BIO
Stand-up, Actress, & Writer SUE NELSON, was born and
raised in Tucson, Arizona. She's been compared as a cross between a young
Goldie Hawn and Bernadette Peters, and once even mistaken for Jenny
McCarthy (by a very, very, drunk man)...(no, I mean really drunk...). Her
first movie role came when she was 16 and played a little cowgirl in the
hit western film "Buckeye" where her climactic cry of "They're not
outlaws, they're rebels, they're Southern patriots!!!," brought tears to
the eyes of all 4 people who rented the movie.
As a stand-up Sue immediately wins over audiences
with her instant likeability & enthusiastic presence. “Blonde Hair & Blue
Collar” her stand-up style is an original blend incorporating her unique
background that includes a family full of NASCAR drivers. She has
performed all over Los Angeles including: The Improv, The Comedy Store, &
The Ice House. She also travels throughout the United States with her
comedy. Sue was semi-finalist in Comedy Central’s “Laugh Riots” and a
finalist in Ed McMahon’s “Next Big Star.” She was recently the warm-up
comic for the Discovery Health Channel’s “Strictly Sex w/Dr. Drew.” She is
currently writing her comedic one woman show based on ten years of
escapades as an infomercial producer.
Recent TV credits include: “The Office”, “According
To Jim”, “ “Boston Legal,”
Las Vegas”, "E.R.", and "The King of Queens." She currently stars in all
13 episodes of the animated sketch comedy show "The Greedy Show" starring
Jim Belushi & Danny Breen for Atom Films. Sue was also a contributing
writer for the show. She has performed sketch comedy on "Talk Soup" & "The
Tonight Show." And recently improved on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “Scare
Tactics” for the Sci-Fi Channel.
Hosting credits include: The pilot “Car Stuff” for
the Speed Channel and “Smart Gardening”, a series of fun videos on
environmental awareness.
Sue began her professional comedy writing career on
the dating/game show "BZZZ!" She has been a segment producer for Walt
Disney World ("Star Search", "Talk Soup", etc.), "CD Highway" (PBS
Nationwide), and "Lifestyles of the Rich and Furry" (My Pet Television).
Which by the way was a real career low... Her writing, improv, production,
and stand-up skills make her the ideal TV host.
